Instacart Style
See where Instacart shoppers find their earnings records, then organize batch pay and tips into a clean statement for your own files. Free preview.
Instacart shoppers don't get traditional pay stubs — earnings live in the Shopper app. This independent template turns batch pay and tips into one editable statement for your personal records.
Best Paystub Generator creates simulated earnings documents for lawful personal record-keeping. It does not verify employment or income and does not replace records issued by an employer or payroll provider.
How Instacart shoppers get their pay records
Instacart doesn't issue traditional pay stubs to Full-Service Shoppers, because they work as independent contractors rather than employees. Earnings live in the Shopper app: open the Earnings tab to see each batch, tips, and weekly totals, and Instacart typically deposits the previous week's pay early in the following week unless you cash out sooner. In-Store Shoppers are part-time employees, so their pay records come through the company's payroll system instead. This template is independent and not affiliated with Instacart (Maplebear Inc.) — shoppers should pull their earnings records from the Shopper app or Instacart support first.
What an Instacart-style earnings statement shows
A gig-work earnings statement looks different from an hourly retail stub. Instead of an hourly rate, the core line is batch pay — what Instacart paid for each order or for the week's orders combined. Customer tips sit on their own line, and they're often a large share of shopper income. Instacart has also run extra-pay offers at busy times, which you can record as a separate line when they apply. Since Full-Service Shoppers are contractors, there's typically no tax withholding taken out — you set money aside yourself — so a statement for your records might show gross pay with your own notes on expenses like mileage.
Using this Instacart-style template
Contractors are their own bookkeepers, and that's where this template helps. Enter your weekly batch totals, tips, and any extra-pay amounts as separate earning lines, and the template adds them into a clean statement with year-to-date totals. Every field is editable, so you can label lines the way the Shopper app does and keep one consistent format week after week. If you enter W-4-style details, the calculator applies the simplified federal estimate described in our methodology — useful only as a review estimate for a hypothetical W-2 role. Full-Service vs In-Store: two kinds of Instacart pay
Instacart splits its workforce in two, and the paperwork follows. Full-Service Shoppers shop and deliver, choose their own batches, and are paid as independent contractors — weekly deposits, in-app earnings history, and a 1099 form at year-end rather than a W-2. In-Store Shoppers pick and stage orders inside one store, work scheduled shifts as part-time employees, and are paid through regular payroll with taxes withheld. If you've done both roles, you'll have two different sets of records for the same year, so it's worth filing them separately. When in doubt about your classification, check whether your pay arrives with withholding taken out.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get my pay stubs from Instacart?
Full-Service Shoppers don't receive traditional stubs — open the Earnings tab in the Shopper app to see batch pay, tips, and weekly totals, or contact Shopper support for records. In-Store Shoppers are employees, so their stubs come through the company's payroll system. Those app and payroll records are the source to rely on for your actual work history.
When does Instacart pay employees?
Instacart typically deposits Full-Service Shopper earnings weekly, covering the prior Monday-to-Sunday period, and shoppers can often cash out earlier through the app. In-Store Shoppers are paid on a regular payroll schedule that can vary by location. Check the Shopper app or your payroll portal for the dates that apply to you.
What should an Instacart earnings statement include?
For your own records, list batch pay, customer tips, and any extra-pay offers as separate lines, then total them for the week. Since contractors have no withholding, note gross pay and track expenses like mileage alongside it. Year-to-date totals make the year-end 1099 much easier to check against.
Can I make a stub if I'm an independent contractor?
You can build an earnings statement for personal record-keeping, and many contractors do exactly that to keep their income organized. Use your real numbers from the Shopper app so the statement matches your deposit history. It's a personal record, not an employer-issued document.
